# EventIndex.ai — Attribution policy

Nine sentences, no lawyers. Attribution is how the index gets distributed, so on
the free tier it is the price — and it is the only price.

## Free tier — required

Display a visible line wherever our data is shown to end users. Any placement is
fine (footer, about screen, data panel) and the link must be clickable wherever
the medium allows links.

```html
Events data by EventIndex.ai
```

In a voice or chat product with no visible surface for a link, name the source
in the answer: "according to EventIndex". In an agent that returns links, cite
the canonical event URL.

## Paid tiers — optional

Attribution is appreciated but not required on Starter and Growth. Scale
contracts can remove it entirely. Nothing about attribution affects rate limits,
data quality or field coverage — ranking is never for sale either way.

## Citing single events

Every event has a stable ID and canonical URL. Link the canonical URL when you
quote event details: it is kept honest — cancelled and past events say so on the
page, so a link never becomes a lie.

```
https://staging.eventindex.ai/it/milan/e/{slug}-evt_…
evt_…               # stable id, never reused
…/e/{slug}-{id}.md  # same record as markdown
```

## Sources and outbound links

Every event page lists its sources with `first_seen`/`last_seen` timestamps. The
ticket link always points at the original source or ticketing site: we send
traffic outward and never intermediate it.

If you re-publish our data, keep the outbound ticket link pointing at that
source too. Do not rewrite it into an affiliate link and present it as ours.
